Nuclear is a proven clean energy. But it has some lingering issues that must be corrected before wider expansion. These issues include resilience of station during a lost of Off-station Power (LOOP event). In many cases, if cooling water is not put back on a facility before the emergency systems run out of resources (7 days by regulation), the reactors and spent fuel rods will not be able to cool. This could lead to a loss of containment.

Smart use of clean energy makes a lot of sense. We should continue pushing forward in a balanced way. But overreliance can cause catastrophes.

Case in point was the 2021 winter storm in Texas which almost crushed the Texas Grid (called ERCOT). It was minutes from permanent failure.

We need to support oil and gas exploration, However, this too has to be intelligent. Studies must be undertaken to understand the cause and long-term effects of fracking on seismic activities.

Electric Vehicles

It’s not the government’s place to mandate that consumers switch from gas to electric vehicles.

The change will come in due time as the market dictates and incentivizes, not before.

We need to be good stewards of our environment in a way that makes sense. There is a way to have thriving economic activity and protect resources for future generations. We always have endeavored to take care since the days of Johnny Appleseed in the 1700s. This is part of our nation’s culture. To bring things up and make them better.

Our land is a gift entrusted.
